Backup Power

Backup Power is automatic. Upon mains failure the control box switches to the inverter.

The UPS supplies cover the gap in the changeover. This is approximately 5 seconds.

If the mains is to be off for several hours, remove the MAINS PLUG from the wall socket and run an extension cord outside to the generator. Upon starting the generator, the control box will sense the voltage and swith back to mains (which will now be the generator).

Upon mains power being restored, uplug the cord from the generator. This will switch back to the inverter. This will aloow time to place the mains plug back into the wall socket.

The mains will noow take over.

INFORMATION (Dauncey Street)

Inverter should function at the station for a day (possibly more depending on load).

If the mains is off for more than 2 hours, it is suggested to switch to generator as this will save the inverter if the generator runs out of petrol. plus, to allow for switch back to the mains.

INFORMATION (Starrs Road)

Inverter should function at the transmitter for several hours (possibly more depending on load).

If the mains is off for more than 2 hours, it is suggested to switch to generator as this will save the inverter if the generator runs out of petrol. plus, to allow for switch back to the mains.

The inverter, not being fully depleated should cover genertor fuel refills.
